Living in the Pacific Northwest leads inevitably to the edge of water: many lakes, the Pacific Ocean, Puget Sound with all its inlets, little creeks, rivers and the Big River, crossing Eastern Washington and then splitting Oregon from Washington. Although, the Columbia has it's beginning in Canada, this river is the major source of life and habitat to the abundance of creatures we associate with this corner of the country. I live on the "Wet"-side of our State, I find the stark contrast of the desert-like landscape surrounding the river sheer magic. Materials & Techniques:
Top-stitch applique in batiks and hand-dyed cottons, yarn.
Machine quilted, couching, painting with artist's oil pastels and ink.
